Refinement of AADL Models for the Synthesis of Robot Systems
The Systems Complexity Problem
Today’s robotics systems are rapidly growing in complexity and are becoming more and more difficult to develop. Many design errors are introduced early in development and are only found at operation time; we observe robots executing slower than expected, missing their deadlines, or completely failing their mission.
Our Solution
RAMSES-ROS is a platform allowing designers to specify, analyze, verify and synthesize complex robotics systems based on a component model library. Thanks to RAMSES-ROS, robotics systems are developed with less effort, reduced time to market and improved quality.

Technology
- RAMSES-ROS extend RAMSES benefiting from the mature AADL (Architecture Analysis & Design Language), a key component of the USA DoD digital engineering strategy, and leveraging the OSATE reference open source tool for model editing and analysis capabilities.
- It generates highly customizable C++ code using the well-known ROS (Robot Operating System) as middleware and development toolchain.
- It is built using mature model-driven engineering tools and techniques such as EMF (Eclipse Modeling Framework), ATL (Atlas Transformation Language) and Acceleo.
Partnership
Issued from state-of-the-art research at the LTCI Lab of Télécom Paris and at the Lab-STICC of the University of South-Brittany, RAMSES-ROS has benefited from pre-maturation funds from IP-Paris and is now ready for a Proof of Concept (PoC) of its use in industry. We are therefore looking for industry partners building complex robotic systems to help us mature RAMSES-ROS. During our one-year PoC project, you will use and evaluate our tool on your systems and provide feedback for building a mature tool. This will allow us to evaluate the benefits of RAMSES-ROS for complex robotics systems development. More information can be found in our co-maturation project description.
